Our World: Fallen

In a fallen world death is natural...The world we live in is filled with sin. People may ask-"Where was God when ____________happened?" God's providence has, is, and will be forever with us.

We listen to the news and our hearts ache. As Christians, we will grieve the death of loved ones but not like the rest of the world. When a brother or sister perishes, there is hope. Their body will be restored in a glorified state.

1 Thes. 4:13:
"13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep."

Everything in this world will eventually perish, but it will be renewed. Our world is trembling in sin. Brothers and Sisters- Pray for the loved ones of those who have fallen asleep in the hands of the Lord. Death is a completion in the work of sanctification. Our experience of death completes our union with Christ. This world is not our 'home.' Our bodies are designed for this world. Our new bodies will be glorified for the new world.

2 Cor. 5:8, "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord"

I cant help but dwell on the beauty of this world. As I drive through Missouri, I see beautiful hills and valleys illuminated by a single ray of sunlight. The beauty that this world holds is all corrupted by sin. We are not able to fully comprehend what the heavens and the new earth will bestow. The thought of the glorified world brings men to their knees. Someone so beautiful and glorious cannot be seen by the eyes of this world. We are brought to our knees so that we can see.
